Depends on the particular bank. I know mine will only do same day transactions from a list of banks in the local area. If you’re transfer money from a credit card you will probably have to wait, especially if you use one of those balance transfer checks.

I have made fund transfers between my account and another family member’s account, a transaction in which the fund was immediately available within 5 minutes, but that was within the same Wells Fargo Bank. I don’t know if it’s the same policy between different banks, or if other banks have the same policy for same institution transfers.
